Poggio Argentiera

Poggio Argentiera was founded in 1997.

The 15 acres (six hectares) of vineyards began to produce grapes for a Morellino di Scansano and the new cellar was built. In 2001 the property was enlarged with the acquisition of another farm, located in Baccinello, a hillside zone in the township of Scansano.

New vineyards were added to the older but prestigious existing ones, and today the winery owns over 50 acres (21 hectares) of vineyards all in the Morellino di Scansano appellation.

Poggioargentiera: Eco-Winemaking Since 2015

It is necessary to say that in 2015 Poggioargentiera passed into the hands of Stefano and Simena Frascolla, beginning an exciting adventure that has helped unveil a very special terroir, very different from those of the Suvereto area.

What's more, Stefano has already involved his son Giovanni, freshly graduated in oenology from the University of Pisa, with the 2016 harvest.

The company is currently pursuing an eco-sustainable production ethic, with the lowest environmental impact: it uses integrated farming practices, exploits natural pest antagonists and uses tillage techniques that naturally hinder the development of weeds.
