Geographical area and place Salento IGP Parabita C.da Specchia Terroir profile The terroir of Specchia is silty-sandy with a percentage of clay of approx. 20%. Good water retention capacity, richness in organic matter, macro and micro elements. The peculiar characteristic of this land is represented by the good amount of limestone, which makes the soil cool and dry. Contrada Specchia is located 200 meters above sea level. with a particular microclimate capable of guaranteeing good temperature variations between day and night, especially during the ripening period of the grapes. Annual rainfall averages 500-600 mm. Given the altitude (200 meters above sea level), the area is always subjected to a light breeze coming from the east, which guarantees mitigation of the high summer temperatures and helps eliminate excessive humidity on humid days, characteristic of the Salento area.
